- For a password, set its length (4 to 128) and the kinds of characters; for a passphrase, the number of words and the separator.
- See its strength and how long an attacker would take to guess it.
- Copy it, or make another, or several at once.
Questions
How long should a password be?
At least 16 characters for important accounts; 20 or more costs nothing with a password manager. A passphrase of 5 or more random words is as strong and easier to type.
Are these passwords truly random?
Yes, they're made with your browser's cryptographically secure generator, each character or word as likely as any other.
Are my passwords stored or sent anywhere?
No, they're made in your browser and kept nowhere; close the page and they're gone.
What are look-alike characters?
Characters easily confused, such as I, l, 1, O and 0; leave them out for a password you'll read or type by hand.
