Questions
What is a UUID?
A universally unique identifier: a 128-bit number written as 36 characters, e.g. 3f2b8c1e-…, used as an ID in databases and software. A GUID is the same thing by Microsoft's name.
Can two UUIDs be the same?
Practically never: a version 4 UUID has 122 random bits, so you'd need billions of them every second for many years before a repeat became likely.
Are they really random?
Yes, they're made with your browser's cryptographically secure generator, following RFC 9562.
Are the UUIDs stored or sent anywhere?
No, they're made in your browser and kept nowhere.
