How to convert JSON to CSV

  1. Paste or type your JSON, or drop a JSON file.
  2. If the rows are further in (e.g. data.items), pick the list to convert; the first one is picked for you.
  3. Choose the delimiter, the header row, how nested objects and lists are written, and the line ending.
  4. Check the preview, then copy the CSV or download it, with a byte order mark for Excel if you like.

Questions

How are nested objects converted?

They're flattened into dotted columns, such as address.city, or kept as JSON in one column. Lists are joined with ; or kept as JSON.

Which JSON shapes work?

An array of objects (a column for each key, in the order they first appear), an array of arrays, an object of objects (with a key column) or a single object.

Why does Excel show odd characters?

Excel reads CSV in an old encoding unless the file starts with a byte order mark. Tick the Excel-friendly download and accented letters show correctly.

Is my data uploaded?

No. It's converted by your browser as you type.
