Favicon Generator
Make a favicon and app icons for your site from an image, text or an emoji, in your browser
Drop a logo or image here
Or choose one: SVG, PNG, JPG, WebP…, square and at least 512 pixels is best; it stays in your browser
Each size is drawn from your image on its own, not shrunk from a larger icon, so the small ones stay as sharp as they can. favicon.ico holds the 16, 32 and 48 pixel icons as PNGs, which every current browser reads.
How to make a favicon
- Start from an image (a square logo of 512 pixels or more is best, SVG or PNG), or from text or an emoji.
- Set its padding, background (transparent or a color) and shape: square, rounded or round.
- Check it in a browser tab and on a phone's home screen.
- Download the files in a ZIP archive and add the HTML shown to your site's head.
Questions
Which files do I get?
favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 pixels), PNGs of 16 and 32 pixels, the 180 pixel Apple touch icon, Android's 192 and 512 pixel icons, a site.webmanifest, and your SVG if you started from one.
Will the small icons be sharp?
Each size is drawn from your image on its own, not shrunk from a larger icon, so the small ones stay as sharp as they can.
Does Google show my favicon in search results?
Google uses a site's favicon when it's square and a multiple of 48 pixels; the 48, 192 and 512 pixel icons cover that.
Is my logo uploaded?
No, the icons are made by your browser, on your device.
