How to make a QR code

  1. Pick what it holds: a link or text, a Wi-Fi network, an email, a text message, a phone number or a contact card.
  2. Fill in its fields; the code is made as you type.
  3. Style it: colors, squares, rounded or dots, margin and size, and add your logo if you like.
  4. Download it as PNG or SVG, or copy it as an image.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The link or details are written in the code itself, not behind a redirect, so the code works forever and isn't tracked.

How do I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?

Pick Wi-Fi and type the network's name, password and security: phones that scan it join the network without typing the password.

Can I add my logo?

Yes, a logo sits in the middle; error correction is raised to H so the code still scans with part of it covered.

Will my QR code scan?

Where your browser has a barcode reader, the code is read back and the page tells you it scans. Keep enough contrast between the code and its background.

PNG or SVG?

SVG stays sharp at any size, best for print; PNG works everywhere, in the size you pick.
