Shape
Each video is written again at its new size, at high quality, its sound copied. Made larger than it was, a video isn't sharper, only bigger.
Saved in the same kind of file as each video (MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV; others as MP4), written again by your browser's own encoder in about the time it plays. Square is 1080×1080 at 1080p, portrait 9:16 1080×1920, 4:5 1080×1350, landscape 16:9 1920×1080. AVI, FLV and WMV aren't read.
How to resize a video
- Drop your videos on the page or choose them.
- Pick the size of the shorter side, and a shape if you want another one.
- For another shape, choose black bars or cutting the edges; download the videos, or all of them in a ZIP.
Questions
How do I make a horizontal video vertical for TikTok or Reels?
Choose Portrait 9:16: with black bars the whole video shows, with Cut the edges it fills the screen and its sides are cut off.
Does making a video smaller make the file smaller?
Yes, fewer pixels need fewer bytes. To aim at a file size, use Compress Video.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. They're resized by your browser, on your device, and never sent anywhere.
Can I make a video larger?
Yes, but it isn't sharper, only bigger: no detail can be added that the video didn't have.
