The cameras and microphones are named once the camera is on. Mirrored, you see yourself as in a mirror; the recording is never mirrored. 1080p needs a camera that films it (most laptops' film 720p).
Recorded by your browser and kept in this page; nothing is uploaded. A long recording is held in memory until it's saved (about 30 MB a minute at 720p).
How to record a video with your webcam
- Turn the camera on and allow it, and the microphone, in your browser.
- Pick the camera, the microphone (or no sound) and the quality; check yourself in the preview.
- Record, pause and resume, then stop; play the recording and save it as MP4 or WebM.
Questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. It's recorded by your browser, kept in the page and saved to your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes: choose the front or back camera in the list once the camera is on.
Why does the preview look mirrored?
So you see yourself as in a mirror, which is easier to look at; the recording isn't mirrored. Choose As recorded to see it the way it's saved.
Is there a time limit or a watermark?
No watermark and no limit set by the page; a long recording is held in memory until it's saved, about 30 MB a minute at 720p.
