The text is compared, not the look of the pages: changes of fonts, images or layout aren't shown. A scanned PDF has no text; make it searchable with OCR PDF first.
How to compare two PDF files
- Drop the original PDF on the left and the changed one on the right.
- Their text is compared paragraph by paragraph, and word by word within a changed paragraph.
- Read the changes: removed text struck out in red, added text in green; show the whole text, or ignore case and spacing.
Questions
What does it compare?
The text of the two PDFs, in reading order: words added, removed or changed, paragraph by paragraph. Changes of fonts, images or layout aren't compared.
Is it good for contracts?
Yes: it shows every word changed between two versions, so a clause quietly reworded or a number changed stands out.
Can it compare scanned PDFs?
A scan has no text: make both searchable with OCR PDF first, then compare them here.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. They're read and compared by your browser, on your device, and never sent anywhere.
