Questions

What is kept in the Word document?

The text, as editable paragraphs with their lines joined, headings in Word's heading styles (found by their larger size), and bulleted and numbered lists. Images, tables, columns and the PDF's exact look aren't kept.

Which apps open the document?

Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, Apple Pages and Google Docs: it's a standard .docx file.

Can it convert a scanned PDF?

A scan has no text to read: make it searchable with OCR PDF first, then convert it here.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It's read and turned into a Word document by your browser, on your device, and never sent anywhere.
