Questions
Why convert a PDF to Markdown?
Markdown keeps a document's structure in plain text: it pastes cleanly into notes apps, wikis, GitHub and AI chats, which read it far better than a PDF's jumbled text.
What is kept?
Headings (found by their larger size), bulleted and numbered lists, and paragraphs with their lines joined. Tables, images, links and bold or italic text aren't, as a PDF doesn't say what they are.
Can it convert a scanned PDF?
A scan has no text to read: make it searchable with OCR PDF first, then convert it here.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It's read by your browser, on your device, and never sent anywhere.
